The director of the Sukya administration at the Presidency of the Prophet's Mosque, Bakr bin Hamed Al-Ahmadi, said that the administration oversees the transportation of Zamzam water from Mecca to the mosque in specially equipped tankers, each carrying up to 20 tons of water.
Upon arrival in Medina, the administration's inspector is responsible for unloading and sending a water sample to the laboratory to ensure it is safe before discharging the water into the designated tanks.
Al-Ahmadi added that the process of supplying the mosque with Zamzam water is overseen by 520 employees, workers, and inspectors trained to serve visitors of the Prophet's Mosque.
According to him, Zamzam water is supplied to the Prophet's Mosque in quantities of up to 400 tons per day during the month of Ramadan, distributed to worshippers in 14,000 water containers and 10,000 spare containers. At three centers, disposable Zamzam water bottles are cooled, which are distributed to visitors by people carrying them in backpacks or transported on 80 regular and 20 electric carts. Another 10 trailers transport containers that are sterilized three times a day before being refilled.
