Namaz – prayer in Islam. It is a mandatory ritual, one of the pillars of faith of a true Muslim, an expression of submission to Allah.
The standard cycle consists of five obligatory prayers:
- Fajr – a two-rak'ah prayer in the morning;
- Zuhr – a four-rak'ah midday prayer;
- Asr – a four-rak'ah late afternoon prayer;
- Maghrib – a three-rak'ah evening prayer;
- Isha — a four-rak'ah night prayer.
The exact time for the beginning of all the described cycles in Moscow is presented on the website.
What is necessary for performing namaz in Moscow?
- You must be a true Muslim;
- You must reach the age of majority (responsible parents accustom children to prayer already from the age of seven!);
- You must be of sound mind (people with mental disorders are completely exempt from performing religious practice, Allah is favorable to them and forgives all sins);
- You are obliged to observe the exact time of prayer;
- You must be in a state of ritual purity;
- Make sure that clothing and the place of prayer are clean;
- Cover the awrah, that is, those parts of the body that must be covered; ;
- Face in the direction of Mecca, where the shrine of Abrahamic Monotheism — the Kaaba — is located;
- You must have the intention to perform prayer (in any language).
Please note!
An unintentional omission of prayer is not considered a sin, but if you have missed a prayer — be sure to perform it at another time. A complete refusal to perform prayers takes a person out of Islam.
