The Makkah municipality has introduced over 280 public parks in different neighborhoods, with many featuring children’s playgrounds. The aim is to enhance the city’s green spaces and attract visitors.
According to Osama Zeitouni, a spokesperson for the municipality, the parks have been fitted with cleaning services, entertainment facilities, and plant irrigation systems. The trees have also been pruned and shaped to provide shade, greenery, and a welcoming environment for visitors, which has improved the urban landscape.
These spacious parks contain playgrounds, squares, and walkways, and can be found in various neighborhoods and residential areas. The recent heavy rainfall has further contributed to the greening of the parks, and the municipality has initiated a weeding and tree maintenance program in various locations.
