The Dagestani mixed martial arts fighter, former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, went as a pilgrim to Mecca — the holy city of all Muslims, located in Saudi Arabia.
On his Instagram, Khabib shared several photographs from the trip, including one against the backdrop of the main Muslim shrine, the Kaaba, which is located in the inner courtyard of the Sacred Mosque in Mecca. «Alhamdulillah,» he captioned the image.
In addition, Nurmagomedov shared a joint photo with another well-known Russian fighter, Islam Makhachev. «With my Brother on holy land. Islam Makhachev is currently going through a very interesting stage of his life, may Allah guide you on the straight path, Brother, and protect you from all bad things,» Khabib noted.
Recall that the Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam after the Shahada, prayer, almsgiving, and fasting. Pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime is prescribed for every Muslim.
