The Grand Mosque in Mecca launched a greeting initiative for pilgrims and Umrah visitors arriving in Saudi Arabia.
The scheme was initiated by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, represented by its agency for media relations, public relations, and women's exhibitions.
Greeting points will be set up at the Haramain railway station and at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
Agency spokesperson Nada Al-Malki said: «Pilgrims are warmly received at the designated railway station, and they are given gift sets that will help them perform their rituals with ease.».
The initiative was launched last year at the railway station, when senior leadership welcomed pilgrims and distributed information about digital services, as well as gift sets including a prayer mat, an umbrella, and Zamzam water.
On Sunday, the presidency, through the agency responsible for libraries and culture, launched a Ramadan program at the Grand Mosque library, which will include scholarly and cultural meetings and seminars.
