The Muslim Board of Uzbekistan is beginning preparations for organizing the pilgrimage to the holy land in 2022.
Mufti Nuriddin Khaliknazarov signed a document on January 5, an agreement on organizing the pilgrimage with the head of Abu Sarhad (the pilgrimage had previously been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak).
According to the board's data, organizational work has already begun, and lists of citizens who submitted their applications before the pandemic are being reviewed. Flight schedules are being developed, and the issue of medical examination of pilgrims from Uzbekistan before departure is being worked out; work is also underway on mandatory vaccination of the population against coronavirus.
The first flight and group of pilgrims will be announced and dispatched in the near future.

To perform Umrah, pilgrims must be vaccinated with one of the coronavirus vaccines approved in Saudi Arabia (Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson; the two-component Sputnik V is also permitted). This is a mandatory requirement, without which it is impossible to legally enter the country this year!
The Muslim Board stated that only it is the authorized organization in the country for working with pilgrims and warned that the pilgrimage may be disrupted or suspended if unofficial routes are chosen.
