The Grand Mosque in Mecca is disinfected and sterilized ten times a day to ensure the safety of pilgrims and worshippers, the Saudi Press Agency reports.

During the last Islamic month, 300 washing and disinfection operations were carried out in the Grand Mosque and its courtyards using 2,400,000 liters of high-quality disinfectants and cleaning agents.

The mosque was also infused with 45,000 liters of fragrances, and 100 air fresheners were used inside it, according to the report.
During the cleaning operations, 500 devices and pieces of equipment were used, and each operation took 25 minutes so as not to disturb the worshippers.
