The number of new COVID-19 cases recorded in Saudi Arabia exceeded the 1,000 mark on Wednesday, with 1,029 cases registered.
About a third of the cases (341) were registered in the capital Riyadh, 190 — in Jeddah, 133 — in Dammam, 48 — in Mecca and 41 — in Medina. Several other cities registered fewer than 35 new cases each.
The Kingdom's Ministry of Health also announced three new deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total death toll to 9,163.
He added that 616 patients recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom during the pandemic to 756,871.
Since the start of the immunization campaign in the Kingdom, more than 66 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, with more than 25 million people fully vaccinated.
